~~Rare Small Early Pre Civil War Trencher - Rich Rich Patina!~~

I am offering for your consideration an exceptional 19th Century American trencher dough bowl.

The surface is pure & rich. The patina is a result of being handled and is original. The surface has darkened with age and is absolutely gorgeous.

It is 17 3/4 inches long x 9 1/2 inches wide. When you hold it in your hands, you will notice that the size seems quite small when compared to most trenchers.

The condition is excellent!

I believe the wood type is maple as it has darkened and aged as such.

Many times I like to judge a piece by the way it feels in my hands. That being said, I am extremely impressed with this early trencher.

Circa early 19th century, believed to be Pre - Civil War. New Oxford Pennsylvania origin.
