~~Early Tin Flatback Running Horse Cookie Cutter - Very Large!~~
Nice flowing detail with early oxidation and little surface rust.
A "Flatback" cookie cutter is the forerunner of the later ones made with a handle. They do not have a handle, nor did they ever have one! They were made with a hole, at times somewhat large, in the flat tin backer. They would have been handled by either the edge of the tin backer or the hole, depending on its size.
It is 4 1/4 inches tall and 6 inches wide. A substantial size - very large!
A rarely found piece out of Berks County Pennsylvania.
