~~1800's Grain Sack - Brown Stripe - H.M.Bailey Provenance~~

I am offering for your consideration a fabulous antique grain bag with brown striping.

This type of grain bag is THE most collectible because it still retains the name of the owner. In the day when farmers sent their grain to a grist mill, they would paint or stencil their name onto their grain sack for later claiming their property.

This bag is 100% authentic and was purchased directly from the Bailey farm in Pennsylvania. Sadly, I have seen instances where names were later added onto early grain sacks, however rest assured that in this case the provanance is real.

As with authentic utilitarian farm finds, this bag does have several make-do repairs. That is what makes them such desirable folk art pieces...one of a kind, if you will.

Pennsylvania origin.
