~~Small American Civil War Period Hand Forged Iron Dough Scraper~~

am offering for your consideration an exceptional Civil War period hand forged iron dough scraper. It was purchased from a present day Pennsylvania blacksmiths collection and is the finest of the group. Undoubtedly a very early utilitarian piece that was once much easier to find.

This piece has a nice tall curved arched form and a solid teardrop shaped handle. It measures 3 1/2 inches wide, a 2 1/2 inch tall arch and a 3 1/8 inch long handle.

It remains untouched. I have never attempted to clean or alter the surface in any way.

The surface of this piece is as smooth as silk and the patina is all original and quite lovely. It is in excellent condition with an appropriately aged surface.

Circa mid 1800's. Berks County Pennsylvania origin.
